Gate Admission to the GolfBC Championship will be FREE of charge for the 2019 event. Golf fans attending the Mackenzie Tour – PGA TOUR Canada tournament June 13th – 16th will not have to pay an admission fee but may choose to make a contribution directly to the official GolfBC Championship charity, the BC Cancer Foundation.
“Thanks to the generous sponsorship of one of our major partners, Husky, there will be no cost to attend the GolfBC Championship at Gallagher’s Canyon, now in its fourth year,” said tournament director Hugh Vassos. “By eliminating the barrier to entry that an admission fee might impose, we expect to see larger crowds enjoying exciting professional golf. This donation also provides a great opportunity for tournament attendees to raise money for charity. We’re encouraging those who can afford it to donate the admission fee to the BC Cancer Foundation. Over the past three years, $400,000 has been donated through the GolfBC Championship to the BC Cancer Foundation, by title sponsor GolfBC Group and its charitable arm the Chan Family Foundation, demonstrating how the tournament gives back to the community.”
“We invite everyone to come out and experience professional golf in the Okanagan!” Vassos added.
The GolfBC Championship runs June 10th-16th at Gallagher’s Canyon in Kelowna, BC, with tournament days Thursday June 13th-Sunday June 16th. It is the only stop in the Okanagan for the Mackenzie Tour- PGA TOUR Canada with two other tournaments in Victoria and Vancouver. These three BC events make up the Mackenzie Tour’s “BC Golf Swing”.
